After doing short term missions for 20 years, we were called to Nicaragua, with the ministry (EMI) for a 3- year term but God had other plans for us. Instead, we ended up staying and starting our own ministry Amparo International, that led to building a school in an extremely remote village.
That God is at work and has given Amparo the opportunity to provide education to hundreds of kids (and adults) in this remote and extremely poor region that previously had no access to a complete education
Following God’s calling, we had some amazing answers to prayer and confirmations before selling everything (our dream home) leaving a successful business and moving to Nicaragua in 2016.
During this time we suffered crisis; evacuated staff, fled the country during violent protests, returned to build a school during the pandemic, got COIVID twice, lost 4 family members during our first 5-years on the field. But by God’s Grace, Amparo’s school opened in February 2022 with over 200 students in an extremely remote area without access to a compete education. https://www.amparointernational.org
