Davina Boerefyn
Davina Boerefyn joins us to share a beautiful testimony about the goodness of God at work in her life during one of the most painful seasons she’s experienced to date. Davina’s mom faced health complications related to diabetes for almost 20 years, and due to severe renal failure in 2009, she started dialysis. Throughout many challenges and treatments, Davina’s Mom continued to do most of the things she wanted to do – one of these most dear to heart being her gift of encouraging from God’s Word and praying for others she encountered who were also gravely ill; through her pastoral heart and love she led many to Jesus. In April 2020, as the world was processing the news of the global Covid-19 pandemic, Davina’s mom developed a foot infection and sourcing care was very challenging, as it was for so many people around the world. A very complicated surgery ensued; amazingly, her mom came through the surgery, and all appeared well. The family rejoiced and praised God for this answer to prayer. However, not long after this remarkable event, in the early hours of morning in Ontario on May 30, 2020, Davina received the phone call from India she never wanted to receive...her precious mom had passed away and entered Heaven. Davina, understandably so, was heartbroken and her deep grief threatened to rob her of her faith in answered prayers. You will want to hear how God provided words of scripture to speak right to the ache of Davina’s heart – the enemy sought to rob her of her trust in the goodness of God though intense grief and sorrow, but our God always has a better Word!
