Alisha Mullett
Alisha, a child heart transplant survivor who also lives with painful eczema and psoriasis which developed as a result of related treatments, grew up in a family that regularly attended church and always knew about God. At age five, she heard a song about how Jesus died on the cross because He loved her, and full of amazement and desire to follow that love, she realized her need of Christ and chose to follow Him. As a young child, due to her heart transplant, she had to have lab work every three months. She had a big fear of needles as her skin was so raw and rubbing alcohol would burn so badly. One day she saw the words of the scripture verse found in Isaiah 41:10 in a newsletter, she cut out the verse and pulled it out of her pocket the next time she was in the lab and felt afraid. She knew the verse wouldn’t change her circumstances, and she would still need to have labs again in another three months but saying the verse out loud and reminding herself of the comfort and love of Jesus, helped her to choose faith over fear. It was then that Jesus became more than her Savior, He was her refuge in life. Jesus is her refuge when her circumstances were not and are not what she, with her finite and limited perspective would have chosen. He has also become her Healer, and even though He has not always changed her circumstances, He has shown His immeasurable love for her while walking with her through the hard days. Join us today as Alisha shares how she came to choose faith over fear. www.FromP2P.com
