Nancy Hicks
Nancy and her husband, Cam, have been married since 1990 and have two sons—Aaron who is married to his darling wife, Rachel, and their beloved David who now lives in heaven. He died in May 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy joins us to share about their loss, and to bring encouragement and hope to those who are also grieving precious loved ones, especially during the Christmas holidays. Bill Webster
Bill is the Director of the Centre for the Grief Journey and is the author of several books including "Grief Journey: Finding your way after a Loss", "Now What?", "When Someone You Care About Dies" "A Not-So-Jolly Christmas", and most recently "When Life Changes". Widowed in 1983, he struggled to come to terms with the loss of his wife, as well as coping with many practical issues, not least being a single parent to his two sons. Although he had many good friends, Bill realized there was not much understanding of the grief process, far less support. This concern became a significant part of his doctoral work at the University of Toronto. At the same time, he began to facilitate a program of grief support called C.O.P.E.S. (Community of People Extending Support). Bill offers some practical suggestions on how to deal with grief over the Christmas season.
