Watoto
At the heart of the Watoto Children’s Choir is a message of God’s unfailing love. It’s what each of our kids has experienced in their own lives—He places abandoned and forgotten children in families full of love. When people see our children from Uganda, with their hearts healed and their dreams restored, they can’t help but realize that this same God cares for them, too. Over the past 25 years, we’ve sent out more than 100 choirs around the world. During that time, our choirs have met Her Majesty the Queen, performed for the President of the United States and visited almost every major parliament in the world. Yet, as remarkable as those moments have been, we cherish the times we’ve met ordinary people in their moment of pain and been able to see firsthand how Jesus heals.

Gary Skinner
Gary & Marilyn Skinner pioneered and have been serving as pastors of the 7,000 member Kampala Pentecostal Church since 1983. They have watched hundreds of children lose their parents through AIDS and civil war. The World Health Organization states that there are 1,500,000 orphans in Uganda. Gary & Marilyn believe that these "Watoto" (the children) are the future of Uganda and have a burden to place these parentless children into homes to offer them the basic necessities of life as well as provide them with love, affection and spiritual guidance. They are about to begin "Hope Academy", a high school for 1,000 students who they hope will become the future leaders of Uganda. Half of the students will come from Watoto--orphans, and the other half from children who apply. Today he will be discussing the recent Uganda Mass Suicide where over 900 people died. http://watoto.comWatoto
