Rose Fera
Rose was in her early twenties, newly married, and feeling a real emptiness in her life, even though she had many wonderful things to enjoy and be grateful for. It was a sadness that she felt down deep in her heart that seemed to come out of nowhere. Rose realized there was so much in her past she hadn’t dealt with; instead, she pushed down her fears and anxieties over the years. When these feelings surfaced, she found it very painful and wasn’t sure how to move forward. It was then Rose went on a soul-searching quest to find answers and reached out to the God she knew as a child. Rose grew up in a family that went to church and believed in the God of the Bible. She had many questions and tried to find some answers at church and asking others for help. One day, Rose was watching 100 Huntley Street and she began to feel God’s amazing love for her personally. She heard the Good News, the Gospel message of hope and healing, and she needed all of it. Rose realized that God loved her so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross for her and forgive her sins. One day, while watching the show, Rose prayed and surrendered her life to Jesus and that was forty years ago this past February 2023. Psalm 40 is Rose’s conversion experience... “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” Psalms 40:1-3 NIV

Is it possible for a book written nearly 2,000 years ago to maintain its intrinsic and vital impact? Is there a demarcation point when literature is deemed old-fashioned or even archaic? The book of 1 Peter was written nearly two millennia ago—rarely does a book of that age speak to ...
