Mary DeMuth
In her latest release, The Most Misunderstood Women of the Bible: What Their Stories Teach Us About Thriving, popular author, speaker, podcaster, and literary agent DeMuth draws readers in at the very beginning to transparently share her own connection to being misunderstood. Combining her gift for storytelling, and her scholarly skills, DeMuth looks at the lives of misunderstood biblical women we may have skipped over—women like Eve, Bathsheba, Tamar, The Proverbs 31 Woman, and Mary of Magdala among others, women, not so different from ourselves. What if we could step into the lives of these women and learn something from their stories? What if readers began to gather hope and learn a better way to work through being misunderstood? "One of the most difficult encounters of my life happened when a person I loved completely misunderstood me, something I’m still working through today. That feeling of helplessness and confusion over a seemingly unsolvable misunderstanding became the impetus for writing this book. Because I love the Bible and its rich tapestry of stories, I asked myself the question, ‘Which biblical women walked through the pain of misunderstanding, and how can their stories help me navigate my own?’ In The Most Misunderstood Women of the Bible, DeMuth ends each chapter with TRUTHS ABOUT FULLY UNDERSTOOD YOU, and QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION. Mary also provides more hope in her conclusion, MISUNDERSTOOD NO MORE. DeMuth does what she does best. She takes a difficult topic, making it clear and relevant, while honestly pointing readers back to the truth. http://marydemuth.com
