Sarah Marritt
Sarah and her husband Daryl have two young children, both born at home, with midwives. They were hoping for the same kind of delivery with their third child. Unfortunately, this would not be possible because Sarah experienced a very low platelet count which she did not have in her first two pregnancies, and the midwives didn’t have enough PPE that was required during COVID. This was devastating for her because she had never experienced a hospital birth and had never been in a hospital before – it was a lot to accept and especially challenging during Covid. In the days that followed, Sarah was faced regular platelet testing only to find her counts kept going down. Eventually, Sarah was brought to a place of full surrender to God as she realized she was not giving Him full control of the pregnancy. She began listening to the song “I Surrender All” on repeat, and once she surrendered it all to the Lord, her platelet count was suddenly higher than it had ever been during the pregnancy! Sarah went on quite a journey with the Lord, conquering fear and realizing that He was with her the entire time, and that He loves her, and her baby more than she could ever comprehend. She continued to listen to “I Surrender All” and baby Jonah was born, in hospital, healthy, safe and deeply loved by Mom and Dad…and his Heavenly Father.
