Rick Wilson
One of Rick’s favorite sayings used to be a phrase credited to President Harry S Truman: “You can accomplish anything in life, provided that you do not mind who gets the credit.” Rick was good at living life that way and reasoned it to be consistent with God’s call to humility. That seed developed strong roots that grew from a will to rely on his own abilities to manage everything in life. However, on August 9, 2019 life changed forever for Rick, and his family, when he received the diagnosis that he had ALS (often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a terminal neurodegenerative disease with no known cure. Rick recalls that the only real choice their family had was how it would change them? Would they run to the Lord or run away from Him? Rick chose to run to Him and that has made all the difference. You will be encouraged as you listen to Rick share his story of how God transformed his mindset from “I can do all things” to a true completion of Philippians 4:13 “…through Christ who strengthens me.”
