Honoring our Healthcare Heroes… Sharon Martell is a clinical social worker who works as a mental health therapist. She has a real passion in working with indigenous communities because she sees a real need. Since the pandemic started she’s noticed an increase in anxiety and depression. She’s seen an increase in suicides (5) in one particular community she works with. She shares that some days are really hard and she has a heavy heart, but she pushes herself to not give up but to keep going. Pray for God’s continued strength over Sharon as she continues to love and serve those in remote indigenous communities.
Gerayr KouriAnan
Jero, his sister Talin and their family of 11 people including 3 children were sponsored by Glad Tidings Church in Burlington and arrived in Canada February 2016. Up until that time some has been living in Jordan and others fled the bombing and fighting in Aleppo, their hometown and made the dangerous trip to Lebanon and there joined their relatives in Jordan until they were able to come to Canada. Over the past 9-10 months they have been met with challenges but their sponsors are extremely proud of the progress.

A collaboration project led by award-winning recording artist Mark Masri. The new inspirational single “Now and Forever (Psalm 121)” was recorded coast-to-coast-to-coast by the collaboration group Canada United. It is a spiritually penetrating song inspired by Biblical scripture that serves to provide an anchor of hope at this unprecedented time in history.
