Patrick Fraher’s personal faith journey began when he started researching the human ego, and how it pertained to officiating. He learned that ego not only pertained to officiating, but to real life, and ultimately to a person’s faith as well. Patrick learned some key, valuable lessons as he carried this research out. Later, while sitting in his room in the afternoon before his first Finals game, Patrick opened the Bible and began to read where he had left off. Before he started reading, he asked God to speak to him through His word and to give him a takeaway…at the time he was reading Luke 15. He reached the parable about the prodigal son and suddenly found himself resonating in a powerful and personal way as he began to recognize parallels between his story and that of the prodigal son. Patrick shares how these precious moments in the Word led to him finding his way back to a personal relationship with the Lord, and how he now views his work and life through an eternal perspective.
