Ashlyn Krell
In February of 2017, Ashlyn Krell was in a serious car accident. Ashlyn was driving by herself one night, on Highway 401 near London ON Canada, during snow squalls and her car slid on black ice. Ashlyn’s car hit a concrete culvert and flipped upside down into a construction dugout that had filled with water. The car filled with water and only the tires were barely visible above the water. Another driver saw the accident and called 911. Police arrived and tried to remove her from the vehicle, but they were not successful. Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene but had to wait until the tow truck pulled the car out of the dugout and the car door was opened before they could get her out of the car. Ashlyn had been underwater for over 27 minutes, had no pulse and when light was shone on her eyes there was no response - she had died! Paramedics were able to restart her heart and she was rushed to the hospital with a weak pulse. Ashlyn was admitted with potential brain and nerve damage, and possible organ necrosis. Ashlyn was in a coma for over two weeks before waking up. Amazingly she recovered very quickly despite potential challenges, and she walked out of the hospital after 1 month. Physiotherapy was necessary to work on strengthening her limbs and core balance, she suffered back pain and had to have testing done on her brain capacity and she also experienced loss of feeling in my hands. Many prayers were offered on her behalf during all of this, and God provided a miracle by bringing her all the way to death and all the way back to life. His power was very evident to our family, to churches around the world who were praying, and to many friends who heard about what had happened. This experience has taught Ashlyn that there is always hope, even in the darkest times and that God is powerful enough to bring a person from death back to life!
