Roger Boyd
From time to time during this Christmas season, we’ve been featuring stories of people who are making a difference in their community. Today we meet a former truck driver who made the decision to start helping those less fortunate by giving them food, clothing and the good news. Today we share Roger story. Roger Boyd started Men’s Street Ministry 4 years ago by handing out sandwiches, soup, and men’s clothes to the needy in downtown Hamilton. Donations started pouring in, along with volunteer help, and now Roger has a church service for the homeless and those living in nearby gov’t assisted housing every Sunday. After the service clothes, and blankets are given out along with a hot meal. In Roger’s words this is who attends his church: “I’ve got all walks of life here you could say here… people that struggle with drug addiction, alcoholism, and mental health issues.
