Gracia Burnham
After quietly serving God as missionaries in the Philippines for 17 years, suddenly in 2001 a terrorist group kidnapped the Burnhams along with several other people. By November 2001, only the Burnhams and one other hostage remained in captivity. For 376 days Martin and Gracia experienced frequent gun battles, near starvation, and constant exhaustion. They also experienced God’s sustaining grace. On June 7, 2002, Gracia was wounded, but set free through a firefight between the Philippine military and the Burnham’s captors. But in the same gun battle, Martin was killed. The world expected Gracia to be emotionally destroyed by all she suffered. Instead, she chose to trust God and forgive those who took her captive and caused the death of her husband. God has used her testimony to give hope and encouragement to many experiencing life’s difficulties. An able communicator, Gracia’s passion for missions shines through each time she talks about her experiences. www.GraciaBurnham.org
Marci Prebianca
A bit of a late bloomer, Marci started her 2nd Bakery after starting a family. This wasn't the original plan... She had always loved baking for people and was drawn to those with food allergies and sensitivities. She started her 1st baking biz, freshly married and motivated. She had a wonderful husband, they were having babies and living the dream to serve delicious healthy baked goods everywhere! Sadly, an unexpected tragedy hit them when their 3rd full term son died while being delivered. Their world and business came to a crashing halt. After some years of recovery, Marci began with her first of 3 major goals: She had another baby! Then the next goal; they restarted the business with fresh vision to serve people and help them enjoy fresh baking that was decadent, tasty, and completely allergen free. They keep winning awards and that's against all other bakeries. Marci thinks they keep winning because more and more are realizing the significance of what they are doing, their baking tastes amazing, and because God is in the mix. The third goal was to make a difference and help babies not die internationally - through an organization in South Africa called The Baby Safe (who rescues abandoned babies). This charitable organization sends out teams to rescue these wee ones in various places like garbage dumps, abandoned vehicles, on beaches and so on. Marci couldn’t control the death of her own child, but maybe she could help these little ones not die. Marci's Bakery supports this cause monthly. Join us as Marci shares how she persevered through the tragedy of losing her child and how she stayed the course with her faith. https://marcisbakery.com
