Scott Murray
Joey Murray is a strong kid. At the tender age of 4, Joey was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. The tragic nature of his story is when a week after he was diagnosed, his mom, Doretta, suffered a stress seizure. After recovering for 3 weeks, things took an unexpected turn for the worse and her airway collapsed. Sadly, she passed away. As treatment continued for Joey’s cancer, they sensed he was being protected by God. Joey is now 9 years old and is a cancer survivor. People ask all the time how they got through it. Scott (Joey’s father) says they relied on their faith and hope in God and they couldn’t have done it any other way.
Matt Romer
Matt was raised in a religious home which involved in his going through the motions without truly believing. He had lost contact with his father at a young age, which led to feelings of mistrust and abandonment. Despite having a healthy and loving relationship with his mother and stepfather, Matt found that the void was too much to overcome on his own. He was using his own resources to survive, with no real understanding of God which led to trouble with addiction. Mat felt lost, and unhappy with his life. Through an invitation, Matt attended a men's conference where he was introduced to life with Jesus and in that he has found forgiveness, freedom & acceptance.
