As a Youth For Christ National team member, Laura Bronson has travelled across Canada and even around the world sharing the gospel in her unique way…but it all ended when the pandemic hit. With a new local focus – Skate Park Church was born. Encouraging and mentoring youth on how to skateboard and do fun art activities has created a strong connection between Laura and the community. Laura shares a Bible story every week and has seen how receptive the kids and teens are - listening and asking questions. Youth today are struggling with social skills, anxiety, and fear...and, so much of what she talks to them about – is how can Jesus help you with these struggles? “Some of these young people would normally never ever come to a church building. But here we are, bringing church to them – right where they’re at, speaking their language.”

This is a story of how Covid-19 shutdowns have forced YFC Winnipeg to pivot and change two of their key outreach programs (Young Parents and Rig program) and how their team creatively adapted to the needs of their participants
