Peter grew up in church – in the Lutheran denomination and at the age of 8 while reading the Bible by himself felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit. At that time realizing that he was a sinner, he cried out to God for forgiveness. Gradually little things began to creep into his life – things that seemed harmless, but they drew him away from God. As one distraction led to another in about 5 years, he no longer felt the presence of God. He became rebellious and got into trouble at school. Feeling abandoned by God, he walked away from his faith. At the age of 20 he was told about his kidney disease. He began to search again for God and tuned into Nite lite. Watched Paul Willoughby and feeling intrigued by the program he started watching it regularly. Many times he wanted to call in having been very moved by the callers. His disease worsened and he told God that if he would ever become healthy again, he would return to him. Dialysis no longer worked, so his brother donated a kidney. Remembering the vow he made to God, he had a vision of Jesus who said “Follow Me”. In the vision he fell on his face he began to weep. He responded by reading the Gospels and began to see things he never knew. After coming back to the Lord, he was baptized in his friend’s hot tub.
