There is one thing all youth & families have in common - they all experience hard and challenging times. In this session, you will hear powerful testimonies, gain insights and be reminded of some valuable tools and perspectives to support youth and their families, through what is often some of the most challenging and influential years of their lives. Together, we will explore clinical and spiritual approaches to offering support to youth and their families.
ALICIA BOOTHE
Alicia Boothe has been involved in youth ministry for the last 21 years. She currently serves at All People’s Church in Brampton, ON as the Youth Director and an Elder/Board Member. Alicia holds a Social Work Degree with Honors from York University and has taken many certificate programs over the years with a special emphasis on supporting youth and their families.
For the last 16 years, Alicia has worked as a Social Worker, specializing in Child Welfare Adolescent Services. She has had extensive experience addressing issues of parent-teen conflict, youth homelessness, youth justice, mental health, addictions, and human sex trafficking.
In 2017, Alicia was honoured as one of the “Top 100 Black Women to Watch in Canada” for her dedicated service to youth work - both in ministry and the community. Without a doubt, Alicia loves youth!
