Pope Francis’ answer to the history of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church is to call an emergency summit for the protection of minors in Rome.
And in the U.S., more than 700 people abused by leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention.
But it’s not just religious institutions. Here in Canada, a CBC exclusive investigation found 222 coaches in Canada have been convicted of abusing more than 600 victims in the past 20 years.
One of those victims, former NHL star Theo Fleury speaks with us about life-long trauma of being sexually abused by his coach.
