The world looked on in horror as the roof and spire of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris went up in flames.
As fire ravaged through the 850-year old cathedral, onlookers wept, sang hymns, and prayed to cope with what was transpiring before their eyes.
But God's steadfast love and majesty, while exquisitely adorned in places like the iconic Notre Dame, is not contained in a building.
The Holy Spirit moves free to comfort and attract us to God in times of trouble.
