How do those beliefs affect a world in crisis mode? We see famine in Yemen, genocide in Myanmar, refugee and mass migration, racial and political divide, often fuelled by social media.
This week Context is at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto to ask: CAN RELIGION HEAL OUR WORLD?
Special guests include:
Dr. Rev., James Lawson, civil rights activist and friend of Martin Luther King Jr., gives his perspective on the state of America today – more than 50 years after the civil rights movement.
Irwin Cotler, former Minister of Justice and human rights activist tells us why genocides keep happening even though we say “never again,” and they can be stopped with political and human will.
International British author and speaker Karen Armstrong talks about how compassion can change the world.
Miguel de la Torre, author of, The U.S. Immigration Crisis: Towards an Ethics of Place, describes his own personal experience coming to America as an undocumented migrant.
And Wilson Chowdhry, a humanitarian who was one of the many people fighting for the freedom of Asia Bibi and the fight for her faith and many other Christians in Pakistan.
