Aashima Samuel
Aashima was born and brought up in a Christian family who followed a very strict and disciplined liturgy. When Aashima married into a believer family she came to know God more closely than ever before. It was when Aashima was pregnant with her first child when she had her first encounter with the Lord. She had fallen down the stairs and was immediately rushed to the hospital where Doctors told her she would need to abort her baby. Aashima stayed quiet and returned home where she prayed and read in the Bible the verse in 1 Peter 5:7 which tells us to “cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us”. The next day Aashima returned to the hospital and the Doctor was surprised after he checked her and said that everything looked fine and told her to go back home. Aashima would go on to deliver a healthy, happy baby girl. Aashima did her studies to become a lawyer and the Bible verse from Micah 6:8 continues to speak to her in a passion to seek justice for people. Today Aashima serves as the National Director for the Evangelical Fellowship of India Children @ Risk. [email protected] is engaged in promoting and securing the rights of marginalized and oppressed communities through advocacy, building capacities, mobilizing, sensitizing and strengthening the involvement of communities and churches in addressing the issues of exploitation, negligence and discrimination against children and women. http://efionline.org/ http://efionline.org/what-we-do/EFICAR/
