Chris Collins
According to Doctors, Chris was not supposed to be here today. Doctors told his mother that, were she to carry him full term, he would likely die, and so the medical team recommended that she terminate her pregnancy. Gratefully Chris’s mother chose to tell the medical team that she was going to have her baby and Chris was born happy and healthy. Chris was given the name Christopher which means “Christ Bearer”. Chris’s story took him down some tough and lonely roads where for years he turned to empty meaningless escapes to handle his pain. The Holy Spirit kept wooing Chris during all this time, and through the love of a colleague at work, who chose to obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Chris heard the words “I have been praying for you” and she gave Chris a recording of worship songs and a letter with encouraging scriptures. Driving alone in his car, Chris listened to the music and then pulled over to read the letter. When Chris read the words in Psalm 66:5 “You Lord are good and ready to forgive and abundant in mercy to all who cry out to You” he was overcome by the presence of the Holy Spirit and he cried out to God for forgiveness and asked God to make his life new and to live inside of Him. Chris knows that Jesus rescued him that night and he knows that, no matter what comes his way in life, he is loved, accepted and never alone because he is a child of God.
Kristin Stimers
Kristin was around 7 years old when she first accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour and from then on, she continued to grow and understand more about who Jesus was and the role he has in her life. Over the last 9 years, God has taken Kristin & her husband on a journey of faith. They learned to trust God in all circumstances through the struggles with infertility, then the premature birth of their triplets and trusting God to provide for all their needs. And finally learning about her aortic aneurism and subsequent open-heart surgery. This journey taught Kristin to ‘be still and know that He is God alone… He is in control.”
