Wendy always had a desire to write, but it wasn’t until her five children were raised, that she found time to quietly sit at her computer. During the years of raising her children and into their college and university days, Wendy would often feel what she calls a “God nudge” to write down quick daily thoughts to encourage other moms, and also students during their educational journey. This led Wendy to begin two Blogs: “Blessings for Moms” and “A Minute for Students”. Recently, Wendy decided to write a book about a very personal and deeply touching experience in her own life. Sent for One: The Most Unlikely – To Love – The Most Unlovely begins in the spring of 1998 when Wendy began collecting rent money from tenants in the apartment buildings her husband managed. On one of her trips Wendy met Sue, a drug addict, an alcoholic – a lady who was lost without hope. Sue could not have been any more different than Wendy, who grew up with loving parents, lived most of her life on a farm, and was in the midst of raising her own family. Sue, however, had to raise herself, lived in the projects, and had no idea what love was. Wendy shares how a few small acts of kindness, turned into an unusual, seventeen-year assignment, intentionally planned for her by God, to help one person: Sue. Wendy was being, sent-for-one. Wendy’s hope is that this book, this story will inspire you to never give up on anyone – there is always hope for the hopeless. http://www.wendyshelleyblog.com/
